01

SETTING SAFETY & HEALTH AS TOP PRIORITY

Shacon starts off its day by always instructing its workers that making sure they finish the day and go home safely. We assure them that we will work hand-in-hand to fix any hazards that could injure them or make them sick.

02

LEADING BY EXAMPLE

Each one of us practices safe behaviors from top to bottom and make safety part of our daily conversations with workers.

03

IMPLEMENTING A REPORTING SYSTEM

Our reporting system helps communicate a simple procedure for workers to report any injuries, illness, incidents (including near misses/close calls), hazards, or safety and health concerns without fear of retaliation.

04

PROVIDING TRAINING

Shacon provides the necessary training to its workers in order to help them identify and control hazardous situations.

05

CONDUCTING INSPECTIONS

Our project manager regularly inspects job sites with workers, asking them to identify any activity, piece of equipment, or material that concerns them.

06

COLLECTING HAZARD CONTROL IDEAS

Shacon often talks with its workers about ideas on safety improvements throughout various projects and understands their point of view, helping them finish projects in a safe and timely manner

07

IMPLEMENTING HAZARD CONTROLS

Shacon has a set team of workers, whose tasks are to choose, implement and evaluate situations in making the job site a safer environment to work in. Thus minimizing danger.

08

ADDRESSING EMERGENCIES

Shacon has identified foreseeable emergency scenarios and has developed instructions on what to do in each case. These instructions have been rigorously communicated with our workers and have been posted in a visible area at each job site.

09

MAKING IMPROVEMENTS

Shacon regularly meets with its workers to discuss any scope of safety improvements that have to be taken into consideration and implemented immediately.

OUR POINT OF VIEW

The most valued resource we have are all the people that come to work on our projects day in and day out. When it comes to safety, our people will be the ones who define the success of our program. Each day, each hour, each minute, we encourage all employees to make safe choices. The choices our employees make create a culture and mindset that no matter the task, we can complete the task safely. Through this culture and mindset we create relationships where our people have genuine care and respect for others. These relationships create trust and open dialogue—people feel comfortable speaking up when they see an unsafe condition. This open communication allows us to continuously improve our culture and the safety of everyone that comes to work on our projects.
